Faith Alone

Pastor Dan took us through Hebrews 11 to remind us of the doctrine of salvation by faith alone. We took some time to cite “The Five Solas” of the Reformation and then proceeded to follow Hebrews 11 as the author of Hebrews traces the doctrine of salvation by faith from creation to present. We take some time to address Ephesians 2:8-9 to show the relationship between grace and faith. We also take a little bit of time to address the issue “Is faith a gift?” While Ephesians 2:8-9 may or may not be saying that faith is a gift from God, Romans 12:3 clearly states that God gives us faith as a gift. Leaving some room for diversity of interpretations regarding human responsibility and divine sovereignty, we clearly show that salvation is completely God’s doing (not of any meritorious work form us). Thus, He deserves all the glory as we rest in the confidence of God’s redeeming grace.
