This passages addresses the end of the flood and the new start for God’s creation. God makes a promise not to destroy the earth again. However, recognising that man still has sin in his heart, God makes a provision for capital punishment. All the while, He keeps His promise to send the Snake Crusher by preserving the Image of God and the like from Eve to Mary.
Genesis 1-11 provide the foundation for the Christian worldview. Understanding how God made the universe and why He made it as He did sets the stage for the rest of Scripture and gives Christians clarity on how to approach the issues of our day. Genesis 1 gives us insight to God, His creation, and how we are supposed to live.
